“The thing we all strive for is to shape our humanity in the image of God, to do good, stand up for what is true, create what is beautiful, and live for what unites and does not divide.”
From Celebrate the Days by Brother Thomas Bezanson

Once again, we have been given an extraordinary gift. The winner of the raffle in April 2004 donated the proceeds from the sale of this work of art to the NYSLRC!

Brother Thomas Bezanson, a potter whose work is held in more than fifty museum collections around the world, donated this porcelain vase valued at $15,000 to benefit the New York State Labor-Religion Coalition. Click here to read an article by Lyrysa Smith in the Albany, NY Times Union about the gift and benefit raffle held this spring.

Click here for a full-color photograph of the fine art vase*. Adobe Acrobat Reader (available free) is required to view the photograph.
*The vase measures 13 x 91/2 x 91/2 inches and has a blue chrysanthemum glaze.

Why have Brother Thomas and his agents, Bernie and Sue Pucker of Boston's Pucker Gallery chosen to support the work of the New York State Labor-Religion Coalition? Because they believe that sweatshops and child labor practices are unjust and need to be ended. Because they know the New York State Labor-Religion Coalition's groundbreaking "Sweatfree Schools Campaign" and acclaimed International Project are making a difference.

For Brother Thomas, who for over fifty years has worked to create beauty "as a path to Truth, Goodness and Unity", there is no better way to confront the ugliness of sweatshops and child labor than with a unique gift of his creative work.

To help put an end to the inhuman practices of sweatshops and child labor you have another opportunity to own this beautiful work of art.

A commemorative, full-color poster of this exquisite vase is also available for a donation of $15.00, which includes postage and handling. Please call 518/ 213-6000, ext. 6294 to order a poster.
