WORKER RIGHTS

The Labor-Religion Coalition stands with workers. Driving every Coalition program is a belief in the dignity of work and the right to organize and bargain collectively.

Living wage campaigns led by Labor-Religion affiliates challenge the shameful fact of the working-poor in New York state.

Anti-sweatshop campaigns inspire citizens, especially youth, to bring about sweatfree purchasing practices within their school districts, cities, counties and NY state government.

Labor and religious advocates join with farmworkers to gain basic rights such as a day of rest and overtime pay.

Worker Centers empower low-income workers through education and training to move ahead while leaving no brother or sister behind. Visit the site of the Tompkins County Workers' Center for a great example.

Wage theft, the illegal stealing of workers' wages by unethical employers, was an issue for the 2009 and 2010 40-Hour FAST. It is now a section within Worker Rights on this site.
